Colin Kaepernick’s Donation: $10,000

Organization: H.O.M.E. – Lithonia, Ga

H.O.M.E., Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization founded to help Single Mothers who are working and/or going to school, survive the ‘tough times’ and persevere towards an ‘appointed time’ for success in life. They provide immediate resources to rebuild, restore and refurnish homes of Moms emerging from divorce, domestic violence or in desperate need of starting over.

Total Amount: $20,000

Both Colin Kaepernick and Usher are donating $10,000 to H.O.M.E.! Their donations will specifically pay for:

• $12,000 for new mattress sets
  • H.O.M.E. has provided over 500 beds to mothers and children over three years. Budgets call for about 3 beds per month, not nearly enough to meet demand. This grant would fund at least an additional 2 beds every month.
• $4,000 for insurance and fuel for delivery truck
  • Home purchased a 17-foot truck with help from Colin’s last donation. This budget will cover fuel and insurance for several months, perhaps an entire year (depending upon how many beds are distributed).
• $4,000 for warehouse lease
  • In November of 2017, H.O.M.E signed a new lease for a 2,000 sq ft. warehouse space to house beds, sofas, dinette sets, dressers, lamps, desks, linens, more. The budget will pay several months of the lease.
