Strengthening Families, Helping At-Risk Teens, Promoting Child Safety

Youth Service, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has provided immediate shelter and support services to Philadelphia’s children, youth and families for over 65 years. YSI offers unique programs and niche services throughout the city, including Philadelphia’s only Crisis Nursery Programs and the largest shelter in the area for homeless and runaway teens. Through shelter, counseling, and in-home support services, YSI reaches more than 5,000 clients annually, the majority of whom live below the poverty level.

Total Amount: $20,000

Both Colin Kaepernick and Meek Mill are donating $10,000 to Youth Service, Inc.! Their donations will specifically pay for:

• $5,000 for Emergency Rent Assistance
  • First and last month’s rent, eviction support. Payments directly to landlord.
• $6,500 Education Resource Center
  • Laptops and work stations for youth groups to assist with school projects, resume development, and job searches.
• $3,500 Emergency Transportation and Employment support
  • Provides access to emergency transportation fund for youth in need-includes job interviews and getting to work
• $5,000 Emergency clothing
  • Job interviews, work, seasonal assistance (cold weather clothing including coats and sweaters)
