THE KNOW YOUR RIGHTS COVID-19 RELIEF FUND
As COVID-19 hits major cities around the country, one thing has become very clear: hundreds of years of structural racism is making Black and Brown communities more vulnerable to the coronavirus. Black and Brown people are more likely to be infected, less likely to be tested, less likely to be treated, and more likely to die from COVID-19. Know Your Rights Camp has established The Know Your Rights Camp COVID-19 Relief Fund to raise money and awareness to the disproportionate impact this pandemic is having on Black and Brown communities.
Colin Kaepernick, founder of Know Your Rights Camp, will personally be donating $100,000 to kick things off. Know Your Rights Camp will be working directly with organizations on the frontline and distributing resources to people and organizations addressing:
Provide emergency assistance in areas such as food, shelter, and basic needs.
Provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to our communities of color.
Support our essential workers.
Support incarcerated populations.
Educate our communities on best practices during COVID-19, as well as share knowledge on past, present and future preventative measures.
